The Queen Mary 2 offers transport for dogs - and cats - across the Atlantic. It needs a fair amount of paperwork to move a pet from one side of the Atlantic to the other and Cunard will not take unaccompanied pets, but it does mean that families relocating from the one place to the other have a way of doing this that isn't by air.
Perhaps strangely Cunard won't offer this service on the first or last voyages of the year or for the largest dog breeds. The animals have their own dedicated area near the top of the ship where owners can have access to them, including an owner's lounge up there where they can mix and there are three dedicated meeting times per day.
It costs around $1000 each way, but the pets get a dedicated kennel space and two can share if the owners request that. They also have their own exercise area which includes a fire hydrant and a lamppost!
